Disney World Orlando Vacation Tips

This August, we are off to explore Disney World in Orlando again and will be updating the site with tips on cool things to do while at Disney World in Florida. We are going to check out all of the theme parks including the great water parks: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

This year, 2010 many discounts are being offered to get families to go to the Disney Theme Parks.

Here are a few tips to help you during your Disneyworld Vacation

  1. Plan ahead - Make a flexible schedule that can help you hit the ground running. Check out a guidebook and get the basic info together.

  2. Restaurants - Disney Dining offers advanced reservations, so take advantage and book your restaurants early, especially hard to get seating ones during high season as they can book up fast.

  3. Extras - Don't forget medications, hats, sunscreen, diapers, contact lenses and accessories, film or video tape etc. and save money compared to paying inflated prices for these necessities. It is inconvenient to have to drive off property to a pharmacy and we had a hard time finding mini-DV tape in any of the stores. Surprisingly, we were at MGM/Hollywood and went into the camera store just to be told they don't carry mini-DV tape....

  4. Bring a starter set of pins if you are into pin trading

  5. Mobility - you can rent strollers and even electric mobiles to get around the parks.

  6. FASTPASS - Remember to book your fastpasses in the morning because by afternoon, many are no longer available. Plan ahead for the longest wait rides and get a fastpass. Once done with one, get another one for a different ride. (There is a limit of only one fast pass at a time). This saves you quite a bit of time standing in line on a busy day.

  7. Height Requirements - Be aware that certain rides have height limitations and check first before standing in line to avoid disappointment.

  8. Parades - Fireworks and Shows - Get there early to get a good spot.

Have a great time at Disney!
