Typhoon Lagoon

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Typhoon Lagoon features a full sized lagoon that alternates between a giant traditional wave pool and an actual wave generator that creates monster waves that come crashing down on you just like in the ocean.

Lifeguards surround the attraction and kids and adults alike have a great time anticipating the giant waves. For a more leisurely soak, you can grab one of the many intertube rafts and float down one of the longest lazy rivers which meanders through caves and past squirting accessories.

Head on over to swim with the stingrays, fish and even sharks all included in the cost of Typhoon Lagoon admission. A seperate area in the water park called Shark Reef allows you to borrow a mask and snorkel and do some snorkelling in a somewhat cold giant water tank. You swim through the tank while observing the fish through your mask while breathing through your snorkel. Don't be afraid of the stingrays, their stingers have been removed, but just watch them as you get in and out of the tank as they sometimes hang out on the step, so just don't step on them! The water is clear so you can see them (and they can see you!)

Typhoon Lagoon Tips:

Get there early, rent a locker if you need to for your valuables. (they also rent towels, but if you have your own you can bring them). Bring water shoes as the pavement is hot especially in the summer.

The floor of the Lazy river and also the Typhoon Lagoon can be somewhat rough, so you don't want to rub your knee against the floors or you may get a cut. The roughness is necessary to avoid slippage, but especially in the Typhoon Lagoon when the waves knock you over, if you are not careful you can scrape up your knee on the rough floor, so keeping that in mind, it is great fun.

Toboggan slides and raft rides are great fun, and you can relax a little on the lazy river. Raft useage included with park admission.

There are no full service restaurants in Typhoon Lagoon, but there is a quick service restaurant and several snack places.

Don't forget the sunscreen!
