Travel to Great Britain

Europe offers many family destinations. From the Greek Isles to eating spaghetti in Italy or touring the Eiffel Tower in France, or even a hop over to Eurodisney, there is plenty to do and explore across Europe.

London is usually the first stop when flying to the U.K. There are plenty of great restaurants with adventurous fare. You can take some of the most popular tours from sightseeing on the River Thames to a visit to the Tower of London.

Famous stops include Buckingham Palace where you can see the changing of the guard, Westminster Abbey and then do some shopping in Covent Garden.

A visit to London is not complete without a ride on one of the double decker busses and you can venture onto the London Eye, a very large Ferris wheel that gives you a bird's eye view of this city.

Once you are ready to explore all the U.K. has to offer, you can board one of the trains that take you to all points. The railway history in the United Kingdom dates back to 1603. Over 14000 km of track will keep you exploring the towns and villages.

The Spring is a lovely time to visit (after Easter). Summer is peak season but also the busiest. The local currency is the British Pound as Great Britain never adopted the Euro.

Great Britain is fun to tour around. Stonehenge has been made famous in movies and is indeed an intriguing site to visit. Stratford-upon-Avon is the historic town that William Shakespear was born. The girls may like a visit to the Jewelery Museum in Birmingham.

If you have time, Scotland and Wales are places worth visiting on your trip to the United Kingdom.
