Disneyland California
Magic Kingdom Disneyland Anaheim
A visit to Los Angeles is not complete without a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim.
Disneyland first opened in July of 1955 and actually took awhile to catch on. When it did, it was so successful, that more Disney Parks were built around the world including Florida, Paris and Hong Kong.
It's a Small World first featured at the World's Fair, was subsequently setup at Disneyland and has since become a steady fixture bringing joy to millions of visitors.
The Disneyland Resort was expanded in the 1990s on the old Disneyland parking lot and includes the California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneyland Grand Californian Hotel.
The lands of Disneyland include Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland and also New Orleans Square, Toon Town and Critter Country, home of Splash Mountain.
Just like in Florida, California Disneyland also celebrates Halloween in style from Sept. 25 to Nov. 1, 2009. Mickey's Trick or Treat party happens on selected nights at Disney's California Park adjacent to Disneyland. The park reopens for a haunting howlin' Halloween fun.
